Single Ply Roof Systems
Single ply roof systems are increasing in popularity among building owners, property managers and contractors. They are less expensive than tradition asphalt roof systems, lighter weight, have longer warranties, faster to install, and your building tenants probably won't even know you are having roof work done (because there is no smell, no noise, and virtually no heavy equipment).
Single Ply Roof Systems (EPDM)
This roof system is commonly known as a rubber roof system. EPEM is short for EthylinePropolneDieneTerpolymer. These systems can withstand most types of nature born stresses and have the ability to expand up to 300% and yet still maintain a 100% of the structural memory. This system has great weathering properties and is perfect for a roof-over project.
Single Ply Roof Systems (TPO & PVC)
Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) and Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) are thermoplastic roof systems that are both light in color and reflective roof membranes. These types of roofs have great weathering properties due to the fact that they resist UV rays and most chemicals. They are resistant to tears and punctures, not to mention are a very light weight roof system. This system is great for a roof-over project.
Asphalt Roofing Systems Modified Bitumen is composed of asphalt and reinforced with either fiberglass or polyester which fortifies the roof system and provides more strength and resistance to punctures. This is done in layers to protect from water, extreme temperatures and wind uplift. Built up systems are multiple layers of felts, fabrics, or mats that are saturated with bitumen. This system can have a gravel application, a mineral cap sheet, or a weather resistant coating to help in the protection and longevity of the roof. |
